GETTING SHIRTY IF THEY LOSE OR WIN

WE’VE all got stories of the things we’ve done for the love of our clubs, but they are nothing like Jose Mauricio dos Anjos’ story.

Because last week the, er, pretty fanatical supporter of Brazilian club Flamengo finally saw work completed on a tattoo of the team’s shirt that covers his entire torso.

Complete with a No.10 on the back, Jose’s tattoo of the club’s red and black hooped strip took 32 sessions and more than 90 hours to complete, with two different tattooists doing the job over a year. “Having the sacred mantle on my body is a dream come true,” he told Vice Sports, after having some pretty specific dreams about needles.

But having foregone putting the sponsors’ name on his chest, Jose’s finished article actually looks pretty good, doesn’t it?

Thankfully, he stopped at the shirt, and isn’t having the full kit done.
