Le Vell fell downstairs in house before his arrest

-

Michael and Louise MICHAEL Le Vell narrowly escaped serious injury after falling down a flight of stairs, the Sunday Mirror can reveal.

The star, Kevin Webster in Coronation Street, is believed to have been drinking when he was arrested on suspicion of assault at the home he shares with girlfriend Louise Gibbons.

Sources say he slipped during a bust-up with another person and distraught Louise tried to help him. He was treated in A&E then held overnight at a central Manchester police station.

Le Vell, 53, has been through a very public battle with alcoholism and was recently declared bankrupt. Pals fear the fracas may end his relationship with Louise. A source said: “Everyone is really worried about Michael.

“Things have hit an all time low with Louise. She was there when Michael fell down the stairs. He slipped after rowing with another person in the house.

“Louise was screaming and trying to help him when he fell. She was so worried. But things have been tense between them, friends think it is just a matter of time before they split.”

He met Louise, 42, four years ago and she has supported him as he battled his demons.

In December she was seen wearing an engagement ring.

Earlier on the evening of the bust-up it is understood Le Vell was at a TV recording of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.

Police said they were called at around 10.50pm on Thursday to reports of an assault at a house in Timperley, Trafford.

They have classed it as a domestic incident and are taking no further action.

There was no response at the €400,000 home yesterday.

Le Vell, in Corrie since 1983, was reportedly offered €280,000 a year in 2017 to stay in the soap.

In March it emerged he had been declared bankrupt, with a “six-figure” bill.
