CITY GUIDE

- LAURA CONNOR

From its skyline of architectural delights to its foodie treats and world-class art, the Windy City will blow you away. I visited Chicago on a four-night break last month, travelling on low-cost carrier Norwegian’s new daily direct flight from Gatwick, making long-haul that bit more accessible for a tighter budget.

Here’s my pick of the six best things to do in the third-largest city in the US, from exploring its more eclectic neighbourhoods, to rubbing shoulders with hungry locals during the lunchtime rush.

Oh, and don’t worry – it didn’t get its nickname because of the gales blowing off Lake Michigan. Chicago earned its Windy City nickname from the city’s longwinded politicians.
