Pep talks up Delph

PEP GUARDIOLA made a personal plea to Gareth Southgate to take Fabian Delph to the World Cup.

The England boss met Guardiola at City’s Etihad Campus on Friday and spoke to converted left-back Delph (left), Raheem Sterling, Kyle Walker, and John Stones.

Guardiola said: “Maybe it is a risk not to take Fabian to the World Cup. Gareth is delighted with all of them: John Stones, Kyle Walker. Delph as well.

“I would like to see Fabian at the World Cup. He deserves to go. Delph is an exceptional player – the only problem is the fact that he gets injured.”
