Kevin’s shed hits 101mph on the beach
A MOTORISED shed broke its own speed record as it hit 101mph on a beach yesterday.
The wooden machine smashed its previous 80mph record at a land speed event.
Owner Kevin Nicks, 53, who claims he has the only road-legal motorised shed in the world, said: “It couldn’t have gone better, I’m so happy,”
Kevin, a gardener, spent all winter souping up the €15,000 contraption which now has a turbo-charged 400 brake horsepower engine more powerful than many sports cars.
Kevin, who lives in the same village at Chipping Norton, Oxon, as motoring broadcaster Jeremy Clarkson, broke the record at Pendine Sands in Carmarthenshire, Wales.
