Seven vineyards in Kent have teamed up to create a wine trail for tourists. The Wine Garden of England comprises Biddenden, Chapel Down, Domaine Evremond, Gusbourne, Hush Heath, Simpsons and Squerryes, who attract 120,000 visitors a year.

A county tourist board spokeswoman said they wanted to ‘’establish the county as a stunning rural escape and England’s own Napa Valley’’.

Itineraries for day and weekend trips for tastings of the wineries’ award-winning range of sparkling, white, rosé and red are available to download at www.winegardenofengland.co.uk
