We don’t have to suffer in silence

PIETA House supporters walked from Darkness Into Light yesterday morning.

-

They answered the dawn chorus to unite across 180 venues in Ireland to help the suicide charity spread awareness and raise funds.

The number of people taking their own lives here may have fallen by 20% in six years, but we still have a long way to go and the rate for young males continues to rise.

Tragically, some still bottle up their feelings and fail to reach out for help when they need it most.

Thanks to Pieta House and other charities the stigma linked to mental health issues is easing.

But we must continue to shine a light on it.
