Shane’s bid to stop babies going blind
Star Filan SHANE Filan and his wife Gillian are pleading for funds to help save the sight of premature babies.
The former Westlife star wants fans to help raise €200,000 for a special retina camera.
The couple, who live in Sligo with their three children have set their own target to raise €10,000.
They said: “Fighting Blindness Ireland and The National Maternity Hospital, Holles Street, are teaming up to raise funds to purchase a €200,000 Retina Camera to help save the sight of premature babies.”
The couple added: “The Retcam will screen 500 premature babies a year and over a 10-year period will save the sight of over 300 premature babies.”
