Fitzpatrick Harry and Meghan aim to do good on LA trip plan to be very hands-on with their charitable work and mission to make life better for those less fortunate.”

British Consul General Michael Howells, hosting a Royal Wedding Afternoon Tea with the British-american Business Council, said: “Obviously there’s Kensington Palace guidance.

“But we asked ourselves what are the things about these two which we want to tell the world and it’s very clear – their charitable contribution is going to be a really huge part of their lives.

“They have an amazing convening power and obviously they use that for a Homeless on city’s Skid Row range of enormously good causes around the world. People are just fascinated by them, so first and foremost it just reminds them what the UK is and who we are and the things that we are doing.

“That very glaring spotlight, even in a very bright place like Hollywood, will cut through and give us an opportunity to explain what modern Britain looks like.

Mr Howells said Los Angeles and America had been captivated by Meghan’s rise from Hollywood actress and activist to British royalty.

He added: “Americans are great suckers for a beautiful love story, particularly in the heart of Los Angeles where Meghan is from.”

Harry, 33 and his 36-year-old wife, tied the knot at Windsor Castle two weeks ago and invited charity representatives from charities to mingle with A-list celebs.

Meghan’s ex-husband Trevor Engelson announced yesterday that he is also to marry again. The 41-yearold film producer is to wed dietician Tracey Kurland.

He and Meghan married in 2011 and divorced just two years later.
