Sir Ian: I act better since coming out
Sir Ian Mckellen, 79 SIR Ian Mckellen has told how being open about his sexuality has made him a better actor.
The Lord of the Rings star, 79, said life was transformed by telling his family and the public he was in a relationship with a man.
He said: “I became a better son, a better brother, a better uncle. I became a better actor.”
Sir Ian added of his family’s reaction: “They all said, ‘Well, we’ve always known that, Ian. We were baffled as to why you didn’t want to talk about it.’”
Though he said he still finds it difficult to be affectionate to men in public.
