Pond-ering subject of plants for a pool

What plants can I use to add interest to my pond other than water lilies? Ron via email

DAVID: There are loads of other plants you can use. Orontium aquaticum (Golden Club) has yellow-tipped flower stems that emerge from floating green leaves. Or try Ranunculus Aquatilis (Common Water Crowfoot) for pretty white buttercupshaped flowers popping up above lobed floating leaves.
