JOHN O’SHEA insisted his final curtain in green last night was no sad affair as he bowed out of internatio­nal football after his 118th appearance.

O’shea’s Ireland send-off provided some green shoots for Martin O’neill and a much-needed comeback win against the USA, courtesy of first internatio­nal goals for Graham Burke and Alan Judge.

The 2-1 victory at the Aviva Stadium, secured in the 90th minute by Judge, ended a losing run of three games
