China slams Trump over trade wars

DONALD Trump has been mocked by Chinese media over his plans to impose 25 per cent tariffs on goods, saying “wise men build bridges, fools build walls”.

The US President made his announcement after accusing Beijing of intellectual copyright theft.

China has now retaliated, saying it would slap tariffs on 659 US goods.

Mr Trump insisted the move was “essential to protect American jobs”.

Products hit include tyres and dishwashers.

He also ruffled feathers during the recent G7 summit after reportedly telling French President Emmanuel Macron “all the terrorists are in Paris”.
