FAKE football kits worth almost €240,000 have been seized by watchdogs as the World Cup kicks off.
Thousands of counterfeit shirts from top teams including Real Madrid have been prevented from entering the UK market.
Trading Standards intercepted 12,000 footie strips at East Midlands Airport.
A spokesman said: “Unsuspecting football fans can fall victim to purchasing fake and sometimes unsafe goods during the World Cup.”
