Saffie’s party delayed over crowd fears

Saffie Roussos A PARTY to mark the birthday of the youngest person killed in the Manchester Arena atrocity has been put back to next year after it grew so big 30,000 were expected.

Saffie Roussos was eight when she died in the May 2017 suicide bombing.

She would have been 10 on July 4 and dance group Diversity and Happy Mondays singer Rowetta were lined up for the bash.

Mum and dad Lisa and Andrew were also due at Saffie’s Party in the Park in Worden Park, near their home in Leyland, Lancs.

Organiser Mike Swanson said: “As plans have grown, we decided to re-schedule. We need to put health and safety first and meet the licensing requiremen­ts.”

It is hoped the event will become an annual fixture. Orgreave clashes
