Wilshere heads to the exit

-

as a fringe player rather than a regular starter.

It would be a heartbreaking decision for Wilshere to leave when his contract expires at the end of the month – but it looks increasingly likely.

Wolves, West Ham and Everton are among clubs that have put forward deals, while there are also good offers from abroad with Sampdoria, AC Milan and Juventus all keen.

Arsenal have offered Wilshere £110,000 a week – plus a £65,000 bonus if he plays and the team wins.

The improved deal meant Arsenal were confident he would stay – only for Emery to give him a major dilemma.

The new Gunners boss made it clear he wants to keep him, but that he may not be a guaranteed starter.

Arsenal have already tied Granit Xhaka to a new deal, want Aaron Ramsey to sign a fresh contract and are keen on Sampdoria’s £26million-rated Lucas Torreira.
