Have Mour for less at United TV

- BY STEVE BATES

MANCHESTER UNITED are cost-cutting at their own TV station – with a radical shake-up of their tour coverage from the USA this summer.

It’s understood the club plan to keep key presenting staff at Old Trafford during the trip.

It means match-day commentator Stewart Gardner, and senior analyst and former European Cup winning star Paddy Crerand would stay behind in Manchester to present the games from the studio.

Gardner and Crerand – MUTV’S match-day front-men – usually travel as part of the official tour party and have full access to players and boss Jose Mourinho. It’s understood the station will still send a reporter and camera crew to the US, but are planning to scale back on the number of staff on tour.

United fly out to Los Angeles on July 15, and will play five games in the USA – with Mourinho insisting the club travel back to the States after the success of their tour there last summer.
