FIFA cash in on Cup

THE 2026 World Cup in the Americas could blow every other sporting event in history out of the water.

That’s the view of sports business experts on both sides of the Atlantic.

The USA, Canada and Mexico were awarded the tournament ahead of Morocco on the eve of this year’s opening World Cup match in Moscow.

“The bid promised FIFA an $11billion profit, more than double the amount anticipated from this year’s World Cup,” said Jordan Kobritz from New York College University.

And Salford University’s Simon Chadwick said: “No other event would come close to attracting the kind of money this World Cup is going to generate.”
