Garda said 17yr-old suffered ‘horrendous’ death
AFTER John Mcdonagh was caged for life in 2001 a senior garda described the case as one of the “most brutal and horrendous” he had investigated.
Now retired, Galway superintendent Jim Sugrue added: “A young girl, barely out of her childhood, was sexually abused with some instrument, her larynx fractured and her body dumped on rocks for the tide to take her out.
“I only pray she was unconscious in her last hours in this world.”
