STRONG ARM TACTICS WORK
Sligo 1-13 Armagh 1-19 ARMAGH moved up through the gears in the second half to finally shake off a stubborn Sligo challenge last night at Markievicz Park.
After knocking out Westmeath in their first round qualifier, Kieran Mcgeeney’s side trailed by 0-3 to 0-1 early on but three points from captain Rory Grugan got them going.
The hosts were 8-7 behind at the break but a 39th minute gift of a goal for Grugan (right) was pivotal.
Cian Breheny netted a consolation for Sligo but they lost Adrian Marren and Charie Harrison to red cards.
