SILVER LINING FOR INJURED PETE

-

PETER O’MAHONY was one of the walking wounded post-match in Sydney but winning was all that mattered.

The big Munster man was stretchered off after a mid-air collision with Israel Folau but was there to lift the silverware at the end for Ireland.

After being presented with the Lansdowne Cup on the pitch, captain O’mahony (left) said: “It was incredibly tough against Australia as always.

“It was great from the lads. It’s been a long time since we won over here.

“To win back-to-back is incredibly difficult. They were three incredible Tests. I’m very proud of the lads.”
