Advice on how to prevent food poisoning and remaining safe
AS temperatures spike so too do the number of food poisoning cases, a top food safety professional said yesterday.
Orlagh Deegan added cases of campylobacter, E. coli, salmonella and listeria are the most common types and come with symptoms such as diarrhoea, stomach pains and vomiting. Orlagh, from Choice Training, gave us some of her top tips for keeping safe: Separate raw meat from other ready to eat foods Storing food at incorrect temperatures for too long causes bacteria to multiply, and Make sure all meats are cooked thoroughly until their juices run clear.
