North Korea ‘built nukes during talks with Trump’
NORTH Korea has stepped up its nuclear weapons programme while holding talks with Donald Trump, intelligence sources claim.
US network NBC quoted five unidentified officials as saying Kim Jong-un had at least two secret sites for enriching uranium.
The regime has openly disclosed just one facility, which the North Korean leader had vowed weapons inspectors could visit.
Three weeks ago Mr Trump hailed a “historic” summit, declaring: “There is no longer a nuclear threat from North Korea.”
But one source quoted on NBC said: “There is absolutely unequivocal evidence they are trying to deceive the US.”
Another warned: “Work is ongoing to deceive us on the number of facilities, the number of weapons, the number of missiles. We are watching closely.”
Nukes expert Jeffrey Lewis said: “It implies they intended to disclose some sites as part of denuclearization, but retain others.”
