Tens of thousands of Irish people are flocking to beaches around the country with many ditching their swimwear and letting it all hang but no longer exclusivel­y, by men.

A third hidden beach can be reached by wading across a small stretch of shallow water. This is ideal for naturism. It is also very out. Our Euro cousins have been topless tanning for years, and with Ireland now having its own official nudist beach in Dublin many sun-worshipper­s will free the nipple for summer.

If you’re sick of unsightly strap marks and are feeling brave enough to strip off then there are plenty of spots in Ireland that are safe to do so.

The remote rural beach is located on the very edge of Waterford, across the river Blackwater from have been listed as places where bathers have been advised to strip off. The INA advise nude bathers to go three miles past Roundstone until they come across a signpost for Dog’s Bay. Mannin Bay has many beautiful beaches and a number of these are very suitable for naturist activities. With regard to Silver Strand, they advise that around 300 yards to the west of the main beach, there is a small beach which is used by naturists. The INA said: “Hopefully, in the not too distant future the area may be signed ‘clothing optional’ and this will make the area easier to locate.”
