Relaxation in law opened up hot spots

BEFORE March of this year there were no offically sanctioned nudist beaches in Ireland.

But after a relaxation in the law last year, which now regards public nudity to refer only to someone who is “intending to cause fear, distress or alarm” and engages in sexual activity, Hawk Cliff at Dalkey, Co Dublin, became the country’s first “clothing optional” bathing spot.
