Student, 8, is a class act

AN eight-year-old Belgian boy has graduated secondary school after doing six years’ study in 18 months.

Laurent Simons, who has an IQ of 145, collected a diploma with a class of 18-year-olds.

The child genius said his favourite subject is maths and he had considered becoming a surgeon or an astronaut.

But his dad added: “If he decided tomorrow to become a carpenter, that would not be a problem for us, as long as he is happy.”
