Ciara mum’s funeral told of 20yr grief

- BY ELAINE KEOGH

MOURNERS at the funeral of Ciara Breen’s mother were told the pain of losing a child was more difficult for her as her daughter was “forever missing”.

Ciara, 17, was Bernadette Breen’s only child. She left their home in Dundalk, Co Louth, in February 1997 to meet a man and never returned.

The main suspect died last July from a suspected overdose. He was arrested twice but was never charged.

On Saturday family and friends gathered to pay their last respect at St Joseph’s Redemptorist’s Church, Co Louth.

Bernadette passed away on Thursday. She was laid to rest in St Patrick’s Cemetery, Dundalk.
