Baby killed by dad’s van at carnival
Barcelona AN eight-month-old baby daughter of a British man was killed yesterday when she was run over.
The tot’s German mother, who was also hit by the moving vehicle and injured, had just got out with the baby in a carrycot.
It is believed the hand brake of their parked van slipped.
Another child was still inside the vehicle when the accident happened in Premia de Dalt, a small town just inland 18 miles north-east of Barcelona, where the family live.
The injured 35-year old mother and the body of the baby were flown to hospital in Barcelona.
The tragedy happened as the town was celebrating its summer fiesta.
Mayor Josep Triado suspended the event.
