Q A
I have a set of KP Friars figures from the Whimsies range of the early 1980s. They are in great condition. Mary Rogers, Brighton British pottery Wade was behind the Whimsies – small, affordable animal figurines, which started a collection craze. They appeared in 1953, came in boxes of five, were very small indeed – and proved an enduring hit. Newer sets were produced in the 1960s and 70s and the last were issued in 1984. Characters like Father Abbot and Brother Benjamin became popular through TV adverts at the time. They came in a colourful presentation box and €8 to €12 can secure you one of these popular little sets today. Add maybe €22 for the box.
