Josh is a Tigers tamer

- BY GARETH WALKER

Catalans 44 Castleford 16

DARYL POWELL saw Castleford’s resurgence come to an abrupt halt in Perpignan as Josh Drinkwater steered Catalans to victory.

The Tigers came unstuck as Drinkwater scored a hat-trick of tries and kicked six goals.

Tigers tries from James Clare and Quentin Laulutogaga’e cancelled out Drinkwater’s opening score. But by half-time the Tigers were 30-10 behind.

Drinkwater twice, Greg Bird, Louis Anderson and Julien Bousquet all scored.

In the second half Kenny Edwards scored for Catalans and Paul Mcshane responded, but it was Drinkwater who took back control, racing 70 metres to complete his treble.
