12 months of his contract. But he has now admitted that he has a “preferred destination” on where he wants to play next season after revealing the daily heartache he is put through by being away from his two children, who live in the Spanish capital with their mother.

Courtois, 26, is on Real’s summer wish-list as they search for a new keeper to replace Keylor Navas.

To add to the intrigue, Chelsea would look to sign Alisson for Maurizio Sarri, once he is confirmed as the new Blues’ boss.

Courtois, who is valued at £50m, said: “I have a certain preferred destination.

“I have some ideas in my mind, but I’m focused on the World Cup. My kids are the most important for me.

“I haven’t seen them a lot in the last 18 months.”
