BIG FELLA’S THE BUSINESS

-

IN the Russia 2018 version of a Carabao Cup tie, Marouane Fellaini did pretty well.

He was one of the better and more committed players on Thursday.

Yet when a new two-year deal for Fellaini (right) becomes the stand-out piece of transfer window news at Old Trafford, you understand why some Manchester United fans are worried. But the re-signing of Fellaini is savvy. Jose Mourinho will keep using him as an impact player and United have not given up an asset for free. He’ll be 31 in November, but they could still more than cover the cost of this new deal if they sell him in January or next summer. It might not have gone down well with some fans, but it is just business for United. And that is what Premier League clubs are all about.
