I owe my life to NHS, says Hairy Biker Si
TV chef Si King HAIRY Bikers star Si King has told how the NHS saved him from being killed by a brain aneurism.
He leaped at the chance to join in a TV celebration of the health service to highlight his gratitude to staff at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle upon Tyne.
“I owe my life to the NHS,” said the chef, 51.
“I would not be here if it wasn’t for the care and professionalism everyone showed me.
“This show highlights their amazing work against the odds. It’s a way for me to say a very big thank you.”
Just 10 per cent of patients who have the same surgery as Si survive it completely unscathed.
