Flyers’ ‘ears bleeding’ in Ryanair scare

Blood inside mask during the incident and one passenger said others onboard were bleeding from the ears as the pressure dropped.

Another described it as “the worst moment of my whole life”.

He posted on social media: “Dublin Zadar. Ryanair flight FR7312. 13.07.2018. Decompress­ion at 11,000 metres and rapid descent to 2,800 metres.

“Emergency landing on Frankfurt Hahn. I can barely hear my right ear.

“Something went wrong at altitude of around 11,000 metres. We heard a sudden bang (not very loud) and air became cold. Masks dropped immediatel­y and we heard announceme­nt about emergency descent.

“After I secured my and my girlfriend’s mask, I took my cell phone to obtain GPS co-ordinates. I was terrified when I saw 8,000 metres. That was dive of 3,000 metres in less than one minute.

“Afterwards, descent was not that steep, but my ears were heating so much. Plane stopped descent at 2,900 metres and changed course towards Oxygen masks are deployed on flight from Dublin Frankfurt. There was some panic, but in the end everyone remained calm.”

Ryanair said: “In line with standard procedure, the crew deployed oxygen masks and initiated a controlled descent.

“The aircraft landed normally and customers disembarke­d, where a small number received medical attention as a precaution.”
