Girls robbed by baseball bat yobs on way home

TWO girls returning from Longitude are recovering after being robbed last night by two men wielding baseball bats.

The 19-year-old girls from Skerries, Co Dublin, had just got off a bus on their way home from the Marlay Park festival and were set upon.

The incident took place at around 1.45am near Shenick Grove.

Fine Gael Cllr Sharon Tolan said: “Two guys jumped out of a small black car with baseball bats and robbed them.

“They threatened to break their legs if they didn’t hand over their belongings.”

A Garda spokesman confirmed no injuries were sustained but said: “Investigations are continuing.”
