Adam’s a Red Rocker

TV3 soap star loving Corrie part as he juggles music life

- BY JIM GALLAGHER

Adam with his Where’s Luke? bandmates Band’s first song is called Wolves a job you have to move on. But you really appreciate what you had and, God, if that ever comes around again, grab it with both hands.

“It’s tough in a way because everyone lost their job in a sense but that’s the business we are in.

“Everyone understands that and when you get work you really cherish it because you don’t know when the Adam and Red Rock stars

next job is coming. You can worry. I worry every day but you have to stay positive and focused and have faith in what you are doing. “There are no simple answers to become successful, you just have to keep on working at it and stay busy. You don’t know what’s round the corner.”

Despite lean spells Adam had never thought of giving up acting.

He said: “I don’t think I could. Once it’s in you, it’s in you. I think if I was old and grey and looked back and had given up I would not forgive myself. You just have to keep going.

“I have a lot of friends who are actors. It can be mentally tough but if it’s something you love you just have to keep moving and trying and improving on your craft.”

NERVES

The actor said he was lucky he found work after Red Rock in panto, the comedy series Can’t Cope, Won’t Cope and then Coronation Street.

He added: “That was a great experience as I never thought I would get the chance to walk on those cobbles. It was always on TV at home and my parents were massive fans.

“I felt more excitement than nerves. I had three or four years of Red Rock under my belt which really helped.

“It was quite a similar shooting style to Red Rock so I was lucky in that respect. It was a quick turnover and the years in Red Rock helped me relax into it and do my work.

“The cast were amazing, the crew were bang on and I had a great couple of weeks on the show.”

Adam said he hoped his teacher character will return but he would also love to follow in the footsteps of Red Rock colleagues Denise Mccormack and Patrick Bergin and appear in Eastenders.

He added: “I am absolutely open for anything once the character is a good character to play.”
