Talk TV So if you like VILLAIN OF THE WEEK weird you’ll love this..
If you like weird with a capital W then
should be right up your street. The series started on BBC last week but you can catch it from the start on RTE tomorrow. The drama is based on Joan Lyndsay’s timeless Australian novel about the disappearance of three schoolgirls and their governess on Valentine’s Day 1900. As the investigation gets under way theories abound, longheld secrets are exposed and paranoia and hysteria set in. Natalie Dormer (The Tudors, Game of Thrones) plays the enigmatic widow Hester Appleyard who establishes a school for young ladies but is haunted by a secret past. But what is it? She seems more worried about this getting out than the girls’ mysterious disappearance.
