FIFA sock it to ’em
CROATIA could be hit with a FIFA fine if their stars continue to flout World Cup kit regulations in today’s showpiece Final with France.
Ivan Rakitic, Andrej Kramaric and Mateo Kovacic have all worn special socks by manufacturer Tape Design in previous matches in Russia.
But the socks contravene FIFA rules by falling into the category of unauthorised commercial branding.
The FA were fined £53,000 following England’s quarter-final clash with Sweden after at least three players wore similar socks made by Trusox.
Eric Dier, Dele Alli and Raheem Sterling have all sported the socks at the tournament.
