Grimes up for Walking Dead hunk Lincoln
THE Walking Dead star Andrew Lincoln is leaving the smash-hit US show.
Andrew, 44, has played the lead role of cop turned zombie killer Rick Grimes for eight seasons – but the ninth will be his last.
He told fans at Comiccon in San Diego: “No one is bigger than the story, and the story this year is unbelievable.”
But he hinted the door could stay open for his return. He said: “My relationship with Rick Grimes is far from over.”
Rick’s departure will leave crossbow-toting Daryl, played by Norman Reedus, 49, the leading man. The show, on Fox in the UK, made Lincoln the highest-paid Brit on US TV.
Half of his €36million payday was for the latest series, due in October.
