GAA to seek meeting over Miller match

- BY ROBERT HYNES

THE GAA will meet with the organising committee of the Liam Miller tribute match after a huge public outcry.

It comes following widespread criticism of the association for failing to allow the game to be played at Pairc Ui Chaoimh in Cork.

A tweet said chiefs are now “to seek a meeting to discuss issues around the game”.

The planned charity match featuring Roy Keane and a string of celebrity players is to raise money for the player’s family.

Tragic Liam, who won 21 caps for Ireland, died in February aged 36 after battling cancer.

Tickets for the September 25 match sold out in minutes on Friday.
