Former TD O’donoghue dies aged 85
FORMER minister and Fianna Fail TD Martin O’donoghue died yesterday at the age of 85.
He was mourned by party leader Micheal Martin in a touching tribute where he described him as a “true gentleman”.
He said Mr O’donoghue “was a committed public representative who had a long and distinguished career in national politics”.
Mr Martin added: “On my own behalf and on behalf of Fianna Fail I want to extend my deepest condolences to his wife Evelyn, children Audrey, Raphael and Tressan, and brother Tom.”
Mr O’donoghue was an economic adviser to Taoiseach Jack Lynch before being elected as a TD in 1977.
