GROPE TERROR
Five women grabbed by lone suspect
GARDAI are probing a number of sexual assaults they believe are linked to the same perpetrator.
Several young women were groped in Blanchardstown, West Dublin, over the past three months, with the latest incident taking place in Manorsfield last Monday.
The victim was standing in broad daylight when she was approached by a man from behind who grabbed her before fleeing the scene.
Another incident involved a woman being assaulted in a similar manner in the nearby Hartstown area on July 6.
The incidents are part of a spate of attacks in that neighbourhood over a period of three months, with two in May and a third in June.
In all of them, young women were sexually assaulted by a lone male who groped the victims before escaping. Meanwhile, a mother nearly had her young son snatched by a group of men in a busy retail park.
The woman said she was shocked after they tried to lure her seven-yearold away in the Blanchardstown centre. The incident happened on Thursday and the mum did not know anything about it until her son told her afterwards. She told 98FM’S Dublin Talks: “I was pushing a buggy and he was two steps behind me. “We crossed to the car and he said somebody tapped him on the shoulder and put out his hand to him and beckoned with his head.” Gardai were alerted but the men had already left when they arrived. news@irishmirror.ie
