Banker’s ban after 119mph stag do dash

A BANKER caught doing 119mph has been fined £2,275 – just one week’s money from his £118,000 salary – and banned.

Traffic officers stopped Christopher Dix’s Jaguar F-type on the M4, near Swindon, in April.

The 33-year-old said: “I’m late to a wedding stag party in Bristol.”

Dix, from Chelsea, South West London, admitted speeding and told Swindon magistrates: “I’m just incredibly sorry. I appreciate the speed limits are there for a reason.”

In addition to his fine, he was banned for 56 days.

Wiltshire Police said: “There are never excuses to be driving at this speed.”
