and the cartel, they are also trying to stay one step ahead of Deputy Langford.

There’s plenty of gritty action and the strain of dealing with the Snells pushes Wendy and Marty into more desperate dealings. Jason Bateman and Laura Linney play the couple trying to keep themselves and their two children alive.

The star of the show is Julia Garner as teen Ruth Langmore who turns her back on her criminal family and joins forces with Marty.

Ozark series two is available from August 31, which gives you plenty of time to binge season one. But if you can’t wait that long there’s plenty more new content on Netflix this month.

The show that has everyone talking, Insatiable, is available to stream from Friday. The trailer for the series sparked a petition to have it axed on the grounds that it encourages fat shaming. Insatiable follows a teenager called Patty (Debby Ryan, wearing a fat suit) who is bullied at school because of her weight. When she is punched in the face and forced to have her jaw wired shut she loses a lot of weight. A slimmer Patty returns to school in September and exacts her revenge – by entering beauty pageants. Netflix defended the series which they describe as a comedic satire, insisting that criticism of fat shaming is “embedded within the show itself ”. Other new shows to watch out for include Buzzfeed offering Follow This ( from August 23), supernatural thriller The Innocents ( from August 24), and chilling three-part Indian fright fest Ghoul (August 24).
