Clem: Bent is too lazy
PAUL CLEMENT called Darren Bent “overweight and lazy” in a Twitter rant at his former player.
The row was sparked on Friday after Clement’s Reading side lost 2-1 to former club Derby, where Bent was his player.
Speaking about his old boss’ time in charge of the Rams, Bent – who was working for Sky Sports – said: “It was inevitable he was going to crumble... we weren’t getting the right results. And he didn’t really like confrontation.”
Clement, sacked eight months after taking over at Derby despite losing just two league matches, hit back, saying: “I sense some bitterness here... It is never a difficult decision to leave out a player who is overweight and lazy.”
