‘CHAMPS ARE BENCHMARK’

FRANK LAMPARD’S heart will always be with Chelsea – but his head is telling him Manchester City are the Premier League’s benchmark.

The Derby boss expects a tight encounter at Wembley this afternoon and said: “This Community Shield’s a hard one to call coming soon after the World Cup, with top players still missing.

“But City are going to be the benchmark still this season.

“They impressed pretty much everyone. They’ve added Riyad Mahrez now too, which gives them something different, an extra dimension going forward.”
