It’s free to download but does contain some costly in-app purchases for gems and coins. And in the new update, players can now get pets of their own.

You can adopt a cat, rat, toad or owl and each companion grants you energy needed for flying classes, duelling lessons and much more.

The animals may be tiny, but they can be a valuable ally in between learning spells, brewing potions and practising your duelling. Players will also gain extra energy while on the move if they have a pet. The update also includes more animated clothing and extra story chapters to wave your wand at.

One of these includes a quest where you can turn into Professor Snape. It’s a great game – just make sure to turn off in-app purchases.
