400 left injured in Romania protests

MORE than 400 people were injured during an antigovernment rally in Bucharest, Romania, police say.

More than 50,000 people took part in Friday’s protest against ‘entrenched corruption and low wages’.

Several police officers were also hurt as some protesters threw bottles and police used tear gas and water cannon.
