Paul caught napping ‘by sleeping pills’

Gazza on show PAUL Gascoigne cut a TV turn short yesterday, blaming it on feeling unwell after taking too many sleeping tablets.

The England footie legend was on Soccer AM when viewers noticed his speech was slurred and he appeared drowsy.

Less than an hour into the live show, the audience was told he had left early as he was unwell. Gazza, 51, later posted: “Ha just read some of the tweets ... saying i was drunk ... I been taking sleeping tablets to try kip that all.”

The star, who battled drink, drug and mental health issues, has told of his battle with insomnia.

Agent Shane Whitfield, said he had taken “a couple of sleeping tablets” to help him get a decent night’s rest ahead of Soccer AM. Worker Dewayne
