One dead in explosion

ONE person has been killed and another left in a critical condition after an explosion at a military hardware factory.

Emergency services were called to Chemring Countermeasures site in Salisbury on Friday. Neither of the people has so far been named.

The firm produces hardware designed to help protect military ships and aircraft from incoming fire.

Wiltshire police said no other casualties were expected.
